About JusticeStat
JusticeStat computes statistics from the court decisions published by the courts and authorities of 3 countries: caseloads, subjects, outcomes and time to judgment, by court and by year. In 2025, the site counts 409,665 decisions from 175 courts and authorities.

The Netherlands (19 courts) and Czechia (103 courts) are presented by court and by type of case.

How to read the figures
- A published decision counts as one, whether it is a judgment, a ruling or an order. The number of decisions is therefore not the number of cases.
- For the French administrative courts, time to judgment is given as a median: in 2025, half of the cases decided by the administrative tribunals were decided within 7 months.
- Numbers of decisions cannot be compared from one country to another: each country publishes a different share of its decisions and sorts its cases in its own way.
- For courts with fewer than 200 decisions in the year (14 in 2025), only the number of decisions is given.
The detail of how to read them is in the “Understanding these figures” section of the page on France.
Principles
- No personal names. The site publishes no personal names and does not reproduce decisions: it shows only counts, shares and times computed over all the decisions of a court, a subject or a country.
- Nothing per judge. No statistic is computed per judge, per member of a court, per reporting judge or per panel. The finest level is the court.
- No criminal cases. Criminal cases are not covered. The site is limited to administrative and civil disputes and to the decisions of public institutions.
- Removals mirrored. When the court or authority that publishes a decision withdraws it, the decision is removed from the statistics of the site.
- A neutral tone. The site describes past decisions. It does not judge a court, gives no legal advice and predicts neither the outcome nor the duration of a particular case.
- An independent site. JusticeStat is not affiliated with the courts, the Ministry of Justice or the authorities whose published decisions it presents.
